Announcing: Edgar Allan Poe Fortnightly!
The same classic Poe stories and poems, now coming to you on a steady schedule!
Hello everyone! Happy Halloween!
Today I am excited to announce a new name and a new schedule for The Mailing List Formerly Known As Edgar Allan Poe Daily! As of today, it’s now Edgar Allan Poe Fortnightly - the same great Poe, now every fortnight.
Poe Daily began back in May because I was enjoying Dracula Daily, and wanted something to read and discuss on days that Dracula didn’t update. Now that Dracula Daily is winding down for the year, I had to decide if Poe Daily was also ending. There are still around 20 poems and 50+ short stories that Poe wrote that I haven’t shared, so it seemed silly to stop now.
The Schedule!
Every other Monday I’ll send you some hand chosen classic Edgar Allan Poe tale or poem. For short stories, anything longer than a couple of pages will get split up into 2-5 emails, and shared over the rest of the week.
Then I’ll take every other week off, so you have time to catch up or go read other things or just live your life. And then I’ll be back with some new Poe poem or story.
The Shameless Plug
Especially now that I reasonably could have ended it, Poe Fortnightly is something I’m doing just because I’d like to see it exist. It’s the work of one person, and while it isn’t a ton of work it is more than none.
If you’d like to support Poe Fortnightly, please consider kicking in $1 or more a month to my Patreon. Poe Fortnightly is still free to all, but any support is deeply appreciated.
I also have two other Substacks you might want to subscribe to: Dear People of the Future where I write to theoretical readers in the future, and In a World… of Darkness, a tabletop RPG mailing list focused on the World of Darkness series of games. You might enjoy either or both. Both have been pretty quiet lately, but I’m writing new things for both.
Trick or Treat
Instead of a new story or poem to pair with this announcement, here are some of my favorite scary Poe stories that I shared this year. Today is the perfect time to read one you missed, or to revisit a favorite.

Coming next to Edgar Allan Poe Fortnightly:
11/14: a poem or story. I honestly haven’t decided which one yet.
